Emerald Agricultural Show

Emerald Agricultural Show is one of Emerald’s signature events, drawing visitors from across the Central Highlands and beyond. The annual show celebrates Central Highlands agriculture with livestock competitions, produce displays, sideshow alley, and community entertainment.

About Emerald Agricultural Show

The Emerald Show is the Central Highlands’ premier agricultural event — a genuine country show with livestock judging, produce competitions, equestrian events, and entertainment. Expect cattle and horse displays, local food stalls, craft exhibitions, children’s activities, and sideshow rides. Evening events often include live music and fireworks. The atmosphere is authentically rural Queensland — families, farming communities, and town residents come together for a celebration of regional life.

Organised by the Emerald Show Society, this event has become a fixture on the Central Highlands calendar. The event typically attracts 3,000–5,000 visitors over the event period visitors.

Emerald Inn — Show Weekend Without the Drive

The Emerald Show fills the town for a weekend, and it is one of the dates worth booking well ahead rather than a fortnight out. From 28–30 Esmond Street the showgrounds are a short trip, and the CBD is a walk away for everything else.

Families tend to take a Two Bedroom apartment — 80 square metres, up to six guests, separate living area and a private balcony — which is a good deal more comfortable than two motel rooms after a full day on the sideshow alley. Cots and rollaway beds are free if you need them.

Stay at Emerald Inn: 28–30 Esmond Street, Emerald QLD 4720. Check availability or call (07) 4980 0600. Compare the three apartment types.

The Rest of the Show Weekend

The Show fills a day and a half at most, and autumn is a good time to be outdoors here:
