Why Attend
For visitors, community events offer the most authentic insight into how Emerald actually works as a town. Beyond the attractions and accommodation, it’s these gatherings — whether sporting, cultural, or community — that reveal the character of the Central Highlands. If your visit coincides with an event, attending is one of the best ways to connect with the region.

Emerald Inn — Late Finish at the Speedway, Short Drive Back
Speedway runs well into the night, and a long drive afterwards is how a good evening turns into a bad one. We are minutes from the CBD at 28–30 Esmond Street, and reception sets up a key lock-box for anyone not in by 5pm, so arriving at midnight is routine here.
Tow rigs, car trailers and larger vehicles use the street parking around the property; standard cars go undercover for free. Full kitchen for a feed at that hour, and a washer-dryer for clothes that smell like methanol and clay.
Stay at Emerald Inn: 28–30 Esmond Street, Emerald QLD 4720. Check availability or call (07) 4980 0600. Compare the three apartment types.
