Emerald Inn — No Driving Required on New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve is the one night of the year when being able to walk back to your bed is worth more than anything else on a feature list. From 28–30 Esmond Street the CBD and the riverside are a short walk.
It is also high summer, so reverse-cycle air conditioning in every apartment matters, as does the full-size freezer in every kitchen. There is a BBQ and garden area with a 65-inch outdoor television if your group would rather see the night in on site.
Stay at Emerald Inn: 28–30 Esmond Street, Emerald QLD 4720. Check availability or call (07) 4980 0600. Compare the three apartment types.
The Days Around New Year
New Year sits in the middle of the quietest, greenest stretch of the Central Highlands calendar:
- Christmas in Emerald — what is on and what is open over the break
- Fairbairn Dam & Lake Maraboon — the dam wall walk and the best sunsets in the district
- Sunflower season — where and when to find the fields in bloom
- The wet season — what changes between November and February
