Getting There
Emerald is accessible via the Capricorn Highway from both Brisbane (9 hours) and Rockhampton (3 hours). Emerald Airport has daily flights from Brisbane via QantasLink and Alliance Airlines.

Late January in the Central Highlands is genuinely hot, and the two things that matter are cold air and shade. Every apartment has reverse-cycle air conditioning, and there is a BBQ and garden area on site with a 65-inch outdoor television for the afternoon.
We are at 28–30 Esmond Street, walking distance from the CBD and the riverside celebrations, so nobody needs to drive. Full kitchens with full-size freezers, which on a 38-degree day mostly means ice.
