Why Attend

For visitors, community events offer the most authentic insight into how Emerald actually works as a town. Beyond the attractions and accommodation, it’s these gatherings — whether sporting, cultural, or community — that reveal the character of the Central Highlands. If your visit coincides with an event, attending is one of the best ways to connect with the region.

Getting There

Emerald is accessible via the Capricorn Highway from both Brisbane (9 hours) and Rockhampton (3 hours). Emerald Airport has daily flights from Brisbane via QantasLink and Alliance Airlines.

Emerald Inn — Trailer Space for the Kart Titles

Karting families arrive towing, and where the trailer goes overnight is usually the first question. Our free undercover car park takes standard vehicles; enclosed trailers and larger rigs use the street parking around 28–30 Esmond Street, which our motorsport guests use as a matter of course.

Race weekends also generate oily overalls and late finishes. Each apartment has its own washer-dryer, a full kitchen for a late dinner, and reception will leave a key in a lock-box if you are still at the track past 5pm.
