Emerald is accessible via the Capricorn Highway from both Brisbane (9 hours) and Rockhampton (3 hours). Emerald Airport has daily flights from Brisbane via QantasLink and Alliance Airlines.

Awards night runs late and starts smart, and the practical problem is usually the hour between finishing work and needing to look presentable. We are central at 28–30 Esmond Street, so there is time to go back, shower properly and change.
Every apartment has an iron and a washer-dryer, which covers the shirt that travelled badly. Executive apartments add a desk and a Nespresso machine if you are working either side of the evening, and free undercover parking means the car stays put while you walk or take a short taxi.
